Malakand Pass: A Mountain Pass

A mountain pass located in Malakand District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, Malakand is a well-known tourist destination.

The road to reach the Malakand Pass begins from Dargai. The road is well structured and in good conditions however, several high-volume HGVS sometimes cause a lot of traffic. Swat Canal is visible from the Malakand top. The Pass was built by the British to transfer water from the Swat River through a tunnel under the Malakand Pass to the plains of Mardan.

Malakand Fort is located on the left of Malakand Pass. It guards the road, which is at the top of the pass. The road subsides through the market town of Batkhela with a Hindu Shahi Fort settled above it. The road continues past the headworks of the Swat River to the Swat Canal. A famous fish bridge is also located across the river at Chakdara.

The Malakand Pass is surely fascinating and enticing. If you are someone who enjoys seeing history along with an amazing outdoor atmosphere then you should visit this palace. If you plan to visit it then some of the hotels that you can consider staying at are Al-Bilal Hotel, Trai Hotel, and Fazal Hotel.
