Keti Bandar: A Port

A port on the Arabian Sea, Keti Bandar is located in the Thatta district of Sindh, Pakistan. Keti Bandar port was built on the remains of the older seaport of Debal where Muhammad Bin Qasim and his army arrived from Iraq.

Keti Bandar is approximately 150 kilometers away from Karachi. Gharo and Mirpur are two other towns that come in between Keti Bandar and Karachi. The Keti Bandar Project was carefully planned to build a port and power station at Keti Bandar. The economy of the Keti Bandar is fully dependent on fishing while the villagers are dependent on the fishermen who spend days at the Arabian sea. When the fishermen catch some fish they sell their products in the open market where buyers collect the fish and transport it to Karachi.
