KANHATTI GARDEN: VITAL TOURIST SPOT
In the Northwest of Khushab District of Punjab, Pakistan, Soon valley is situated. Kanhatti Garden is a vital tourist spot in the Soon valley. Established by Major W When Burn on 18th August 1933 Kanhatti Garden is a significant tourist spot in the Soon valley. Kanhatti is a sub-village of Khabeki and is a special rock found in the natural water spring. In December 1934 plantation in the Kanhatti garden was started which was completed in February 1935. The famous plantations include almond, apricot, pineapple, Valencia late, and Washington Navel. Under the administrative control of Director Horticulture Research Institute, AARI-Faisalabad the Garden was transferred to Horticulture Research Station Soon Valley. In 1999, it was given under the supervision of the Khushab District Council. Dense lush green trees and private settlements surround Kanhatti garden. The Kanhatti Garden is home to many floras and faunas. More than 15 species of tall trees, 60 herbs, 20 shrubs, and 15 types of grasses are from the garden. Kanhatti garden is home to the largest bird population. In the garden’s water springs Punjab Urial, Grey and Black partridges, golden orioles, woodpeckers and 6 different endemic fish species have been found. Sources for irrigation for this garden includes spring water, rainwater, and tube well.
