SHANGRILA LAKE: MESMERIZING LAKE AND RESORT

Shangrila lake also known as Lower Kachura Lake is situated in Kachura village in Skardu at an elevation of 2500 meters. The word Shangrila means Heaven on Earth and people started calling this lake Shangrila Lake after a resort was constructed over here by Muhammad Aslam Khan Afridi.

This resort is quite popular because of its restaurant which was constructed on the wreckage of an aircraft which was unfortunately crashed close to this area. It takes a drive of about 20 minutes to reach Shangrila Lake from Skardu. Shangrila Lake is a mesmerizing artificial lake with crystal clear water that comes from the upper Kachura Lake.

Shangrila Resort won the Wiki loves Earth competition which commenced in the year 2015 which is proof of its breathtaking sight. Visiting Shangrila Lake is an experience which one will never forget and will cherish forever.
