Astola Island: Island of seven hills
Renowned as Jezira Haft Talar Astola Island means ‘Island of the Seven Hills’. Astola land is a small abandoned island of Pakistan in the Arabian Sea. Astola land is 25 kilometers towards the south of the coast.
Astola Island is believed to be the largest offshore island of Pakistan. The island and is about 6.7 kilometers in length. The width of Astola island is 2.3 kilometers while the surface area of Astola island is 6.7 square kilometers. The highest point of the island is 246ft. above the level of the sea.
Astola Island is a part of the Pasni sub-district of Gwadar. Motorized boats take tourists from Pasni to the island. The motorized boats take 5 hours to reach the island. In 2017, Pakistan called Astola island the first-ever marine protected area.
The island consists of small hills and a large plateau, which are mesmerizing. The sight of the island is a masterpiece. The calm and serene atmosphere of the island can capture one’s heart.
