BABUSAR PASS: PICTURESQUE LOCATION

Built at an elevation of approximately 13,691 feet, Babusar Pass also called Babusar Top is a mountain pass situated in Kaghan valley and connects Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and Gilgit Baltistan region of Pakistan. Babusar Top was previously called Babur Top because this area is said to be crossed by Mughal Emperor Babur often. In the year 1890, the British constructed this track across Babusar joining Gilgit and British India. The best time to visit this beautiful place is between May and September as the weather of Kaghan Valley is extremely pleasing in these months.

The mesmerizing view of huge mountains covered slightly with snow leaves one spell bounded. The Kaghan Valley can be approached easily by road from the capital of Pakistan, Islamabad, or Peshawar. Babusar Pass is the highest point in the valley and can be accessed by cars but to ensure a safe drive, it is recommended to hire a local driver as they have a better understanding of the rough roads over here.

The journey towards Babusar includes the captivating views of Lulusar Lake and Besal Lake. The weather is very cold over here so; don’t forget to wear warm clothes.
