Kaplu has is known to be the second-largest kingdom of the Yabgo Dynasty in the old Baltistan. The dynasty expands throughout the town with great architecture to glance at. There is a reason why this is special and was the center of the Yabgo Dynasty. Once Kaplu guarded trade route to Ladakh along with Shyok River.
Kaplu is the base to trek your way to Hushe valley, another great spot to visit. You can trek your way from Kaplu to a high peak of the Karakoram Mountains namely Masherbrum, K-6, K-7. It is safe to say after a long trek, the views are worth the struggle.
Kaplu is also famous for Chaqchan, a mosque 700 years old founded by Syed Ali Hamadani. It is one of the oldest Mosques in Pakistan and attracts many believers to Kaplu. Moreover, you can visit the Shyok River which can be reached easily through Kaplu and offers great recreational activities such as swimming, fishing, and camping with a great river view.
Raja Palace is considered an architectural heritage along with a tourist attraction. The phenomenal architecture attracts tourists all around the world to see how the Dynasty was found of great architecture and how this Palace is preserved after so many centuries.
For anyone who is worried about transport, the Kaplu can be reached by roads. The road connects Kaplu to Skardu Valley. You can travel by bus or car depending on your budget.
