MINAR-E-PAKISTAN: AN EPITOME OF HONOUR

Pakistan Yaadgar (Minar-e-Pakistan) has immense historical importance, as it is the place wherein the 1940 All India Muslim League passed a resolution on 23rd March. This resolution was an official decision of making Pakistan an independent state for the Muslims. It is a public monument located in Lahore, Punjab. The basis of the monument was laid on 23rd march 1960 and was finalized on 21st October 1968. The design of the monument was planned by Pakistani architect, Nasreddin Murat Khan. This eye-pleasing monument stands 70m tall above the ground. Shaped like a flower the base is approximately 8m above the ground and consists of four platforms. Each one depicts the difficult phases, which the people went through in their struggle for independence. The fourth platform is embellished with white marbles indicating the achievement of the Pakistan Movement. Minar-e-Pakistan is surrounded by the scenic view of parks and flowers.
