NOOR MAHAL BAHAWALPUR: PALACE OF GRANDEUR

Constructed in the year 1872, Noor Mahal is a grand and exuberant palace located in the city of Bahawalpur in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is also referred to as the Haweli of Bahawalpur. It dates back to British rule as the Nawabs of Bahawalpur used it when it was a princely state. In the present era, it is under the army of Pakistan and is used for both tourism purposes and for organizing meetings with foreign officers.

The palace consists of 32 rooms in total. There are a total of 6 balconies and 5 domes. The interior of the palace is from England and Italy. The design circumscribes the characteristics of Islamic and Corinthian styles of construction. The roof and the ground are created very aesthetically and embellished with colorful painted tiles. Inside the palace, there are many antique and valuable things that people find extremely fascinating. They include old swords, ancient currency, ancient furniture ancient musical instruments that were once played by the Nawabs. Other engrossing things include a wall which has many imaginary paintings of the Nawabs and among them only one is actual. This palace also contains an ancient cell. Some captivating antique vehicles of the Nawabs are also carefully kept over here which also includes buggy. The lush green garden adds to the beauty of the palace with neatly cut and maintained trees. A small but eye-pleasing pathway is made with trees which are called Jamun Gali.
