UCH SHARIF: A CITY ADORED BY HISTORIANS

Uch Sharif is a city with immense historical importance. It is situated in the southern part of the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is at a distance of about 75 km from Bahawalpur. The tradition of veneration of saints was initiated from this city. Uch was established by Alexander the Great who thought that an area that serves as a connection between the Indus Rivers will surely thrive. Later on, it came under the rule of the Delhi Sultanate.  Uch is abundant with culture, history and is known for the majestic shrines of various saints located over here. Whoever comes over here is left spell bounded by the alluring sights of the shrines. Major highlights and tourist attractions in Uch Sharif are the shrine of Bibi Jawindi, the shrine of Hazrat Jalal-ud-Din Bukhari, Rajan Qattal, Ustad Ladla, and the shrine of Baha’al-Halim.

These rooms are very dear to the people as they have been used by well known and honorable saints like Baba Bulleh Shah. The historical mosque of Makhdoom Jahanian, who is known as the great traveler of the world, is another attraction for tourists over here because of its captivating architecture. Adorned with blue tiles, this mosque is one of its kind.
